We are delighted to announce Steve O’Hare as the recipient of the 2025 McIlwraith Award, recognising an extraordinary year — and many years — of selfless service to our Club.

Whether it’s painting a ball barrier, fixing a power point, stopping a dripping tap or replacing an honour board, Steve is the person everyone turns to. No task is ever too big or too small, and no request is ever met without a smile. Time and again, Steve quietly steps up, often behind the scenes, ensuring our facilities, equipment and grounds are safe, functional and welcoming for all.

McIlwraith President, Deb Camden, said Steve’s contribution goes well beyond practical skills.

"His generosity of spirit, willingness to help others, and commitment to nurturing players and friendships alike reflect the very best of what McIlwraith stands for," Deb said.

"We also extend our sincere thanks to the many worthy nominees this year — members who give their time, energy and heart to our Club in so many ways. Our community thrives thanks to our volunteers."
